With a great range of experience and expertise, their passion for the game is only matched by their ability to provide sound, insightful and patient advice. Check out our team below.

Alan Murdoch FPGA BSc - Director of Golf

Alan's a highly respected Scottish professional who has played on the OMEGA Tour, the Nike Tour in the US, and the European challenge tour. His playing and teaching career began when he graduated from North-East Louisiana University and was appointed assistant pro at Dalmahoy Country Club near Edinburgh. He worked at Dalmahoy until taking up a teaching post in Hamburg. In Germany he combined playing and teaching until he decided to play full-time. Now, after gaining vital experience on the pro circuit, he has returned to his native Edinburgh to be Director of Golf at Kings Acre.

In his instruction he focuses on working with individual swings and try's to blend in improved movement patterns to their swings. He says, "Good grip, a constant clubface and swing the club on the correct line"! His success is clear, since Alan is one of Scotland's most popular and highly regarded instructors.

Kurt Mungall - PGA Head Teaching Professional

Kurt has over 22 years experience as a PGA qualfied golf professional, is TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) qualified and a certified club fitter. Kurt a Lothians Golf Association coach for 10 years has been heavily involved in junior development. Kurt has continued his professional development and is a keen student of the game. He adopts a "holistic" approach to game development & factors in all components to help golfers reach their potential. He developed his "route to success" assesment so golfers can identify the key areas they need to improve in, take their practice to the course and make practice fun!

Ross Millar - PGA Head Professional

Ross has now worked in the golf industry for 5+ years, in which time has achieved very highly. A graduate from the PGA National Training Academy in 2016 allows him to now hold PGA Qualified "A" Status to his name. During his three year FdSc Professional Golf Studies degree, accredited by the University of Birmingham, Ross has gathered a wealth of knowledge on various topics ranging from golf coaching (his favourite) to business management. Described as a young enthusiastic coach, he is a credit to Kings Acre and looks to transform the game of everyone he teaches by focusing strongly on the fundamentals of the golf swing and tailor goals based on each individuals needs.
